Panchkarma

The Traditional Wisdom of Panchkarma

Panchkarma — literally 'five actions' — is a classical set of Ayurvedic purification and rejuvenation procedures, guided responsibly and personalised to each individual.

What it means

Purification in the classical, careful sense

Panchkarma describes the classical Ayurvedic approach of deep cleansing and rebalancing the body through a sequence of therapies. At Prakruti Ayurved & Panchkarma it is practised carefully: it is not a package, and it is not for everyone.

The suitability of Panchkarma — and every step within it — is decided during your consultation. The doctor may recommend preparatory therapies, other Ayurvedic care, or refer you elsewhere, depending on what your assessment shows.

Your journey

How a Panchkarma programme is planned

01

Consultation & assessment

Your programme begins before any therapy. In consultation the doctor understands your constitution, current state and goals — and whether Panchkarma is appropriate for you at all.

02

Personalised treatment planning

Based on the assessment, the doctor plans the choice of therapies, medicated oils and decoctions, the sequence and the duration. Your programme is yours alone.

03

The treatment experience

Sessions are unhurried and guided. Classical therapies — from preparatory oil work to the main procedures and steam — are administered with attention and care.

04

Post-treatment guidance

After the programme, guidance on rest, diet and routine helps your body settle and sustain the benefits. Follow-up is part of the plan, not an afterthought.

Commonly included

Therapies within a programme

The specific therapies in your programme depend entirely on your assessment. Classical therapies commonly woven into Panchkarma include:

  • Abhyanga — warm, rhythmic whole-body medicated oil therapy
  • Shirodhara — a gentle, continuous stream of warm oil over the forehead
  • Swedana — medicated herbal steam used with oil therapies
  • Activity-based therapies suited to your assessment

A responsible note

Panchkarma is not a guaranteed cure for any condition, and it is not appropriate for everyone. It should be undertaken only following a proper consultation with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner. If you are pregnant, on medication, or managing a serious health condition, always discuss it with the doctor during your consultation.
