Ayurveda and Seasonal Wellness

Ayurveda teaches that the body lives inside nature, not apart from it. As seasons change, so do digestion, energy and vulnerability. Ritucharya is the practice of adjusting your routine to the season.
Six seasons, one principle
Classical Ayurveda describes six seasons, each with its own dietary and lifestyle guidance. The underlying principle is simple: eat and live in ways that counterbalance the qualities of the season.
For example, in cold, damp seasons the body benefits from warmth — warm foods, warm clothing and a regular routine. In hot seasons, cooler, lighter and hydrating choices take precedence.
Practical seasonal shifts
You do not need to overhaul your life each season. Small shifts — the temperature of your food, the time you wake, the type of oil you use, how much you exercise — add up to a body that adapts more gracefully.
Seasonal approaches such as a guided seasonal routine or even a well-planned Panchkarma programme can be part of this. They should always follow a consultation.
